Go Auto High School Game of the Week

Each week, we highlight our pick for the biggest game of the weekend with the B97 Go Auto High School Game of the Week! Will your school be next?

What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?  We’ll find out Friday night in the B-97 Prep Game of the Week when John Curtis takes on Archbishop Rummel at Yenni Stadium.  Each of these teams have taken a different path to this clash of undefeated teams.  Curtis has scored over 60 points in three games … with a season average of 52 points per game.  Rummel has only allowed 25 points the entire season … an average of just 3 points per game. The winner of this tilt of 8 and 0 unbeatens has the inside track to the 9 – 5A title.

With both LSU and Tulane on a bye week you can still get a great football fix Saturday night as St. Augustine and John Curtis tee it up on Tulane’s campus at Yulman Stadium at 7pm. The Patriots are the top rated team in the state while the Purple Knights hold down the 16th spot.  This District 9 – 5A tilt matches the Patriots brutal rushing offense averaging 56 points a game … against the Purple Knights incredible defense yielding less than 7 points per game. It’s the immovable object versus the unstoppable force in the B97 Go Auto High School Football Game of the Week.

High School prep season is off to a great start! This week’s exciting game will be in Denham Springs and Hahnville travels to town to take on the Yellowjackets. Should be a good showdown between two tough teams!  And at half time they’ll honor the 1972 Denham Spring team that made their only state championship appearance – their opponent at the time – Hanhville!  Action starts at 7pm on Friday 9/6/2019! It’s Hahnville versus Denham Springs, this week’s B97 and GoAuto High School Football Game of the Week!
