Lots of events in and around the city including Pride weekend events!

Creole Tomato Festival - Saturday and Sunday at the French Market. Celebrate our great southern tomato with tons of great food, cooking demos, kid's activities and a Bloody Mary Market in Dutch Alley.

Northshore Food Truck Round-Up - Friday, 5:30pm at Abita Tap Room. 5 food trucks selling food, music playing and lots of beer or root beer options.

Music of Prince - Friday, 7pm at New Orleans Jazz Orchestra. The Nola take on the legendary music of Prince. Tickets start at $30.

June Under the Moon - Friday, 7:30pm at City Park. Grown up night on the rides with open beer bars, vodka snowballs, food, prizes and unlimited rides. And 101 friendly dogs will be admitted too! $30/person, $10/dog.

Kids Movies - Saturday, 10am at the Prytania Theater. The Muppets Take Manhattan will be playing this weekend. Tickets are $6.50 and include kiddie popcorn and drink.

LPO's Bayou Rd Block Party - Saturday, 2pm at Southern Rep Theater. Fun for everyone with music and family activities.

Baby Cakes games - Saturday, 6pm and Sunday at 1pm at Shrine on Airline. Kid friendly promotions for both games including coloring book giveaways and kids running the bases after the game.

Yoga on Tap - Sunday, 4:15 at Abita Tap Room. One-hour class and a pint of beer included for $15 with proceeds benefitting St Tammany Humane Society.

World Naked Bike Ride - Saturday, 5pm in the Bywater. This is obviously not an event for most people (including me). But I wanted to list it for 2 reasons. 1) So you heard about the cause of awareness for cyclists and sharing the road with them safely... and 2) so you're aware in case you don't want little eyes to see it. :)  Usually it rolls into the Marigny and French Quarter.

 

PRIDE EVENTS

Baby Cakes Game - Friday, 7pm at Shrine on Airline. It's LGBT Day at the Ballpark with the Baby Cakes. Tickets are $10 with $5 from every ticket going to charity and free koozies for the first 1000 fans.

Pride Happy Hour - Friday 4pm at Brennan's. Extra colorful bubbles, drag queens and a portion of proceeds going to charity.

Dancing Queen The Music of ABBA & Queen - Friday 7:30 at UNO Theater of Performing Arts. The New Orleans Gay Men's Chorus will be performing the music of both the iconic 70's and 80's bands.

Pride Fest - Saturday, 12pm at Elysian Fields and Rampart. Headliner performance from Big Freedia along with health screenings, pet adoptions and pet costume contest along with food, drinks and other vendors. Inclusive and family friendly.

B97 Live from Pride - Saturday, 5pm on Balcony of Bourbon Pub and Parade. Come say hi before or during the parade from a great spot to catch it.

Pride parade - Saturday, 7:30pm through the MArigny & French Quarter. Floats and marching groups celebrate Pride with the largest LGBT+ parade on the Gulf Coast. Look for B97 in the parade with Speedy and Tpot!

Family Equality Day - Sunday, 10am-1pm at Longue Vue House and Gardens. This family-friendly and inclusive event is free with performances, activies & crafts and well as resources for LGBTQ+ familes.

 

PET EVENTS

Puppy Yoga - Saturday, 9am, Great Lawn at City Park. Join Take Paws Rescue for some yoga with extra cuteness.

Take Paws Pet Adoption - Saturday, 12-3pm at Jefferson Feed on Veterans next to Trader Joe's.

Rolling River Rescue Pet Adoption - Saturday, 10am at Petsmart on Clearview in Elmwood.

St Francis Animal Sanctuary Pet Adoption - Saturday, 10am-12pm at Latter & Blum in Mandeville.
